We've noticed something which is causing incredible confusion with customers and hoping i can get some ideas how it clicks together and how to work around or explain it to customers
We have incoming email compression enabled and use mdbox for storage.
As an example here we have a customer on a 2 GB package limit their account usage shows
Disk Usage
1.98 GB / 2 GB (98.77%)
However if you check the email accounts (only 1 address created) it shows
Storage: Used / Allocated / %
2.51 GB / 1.86 GB / 135.06%
Firstly how can the email account storage show as using 2.51 GB when the actual account quota is 2 GB and it shows they are still under account quota (98.77%)
Cpanel advised that its because the email account stats show the uncompressed usage (why wouldn't it show the compressed usage figures?) and This is an example of how these quota systems are similar but are decoupled from each other and are managing separate concerns.
I find it totally confusing and so do customers who pay for 1 account allowance - they don't sign up for 2 diff quota systems?
How does everyone else deal with this situation? how do you explain it to the customer that even though their cpanel account shows 1.98 GB their usage is actually 2.51 when all of the usage tools other then mail show a different 1.98 figure.... how can you "fit 2.51 into 1.98"
