I've had this email for two days now:
[check_cpanel_pkgs] There are altered Packages on my.domain.com
Packages | Status | Additional Information |
---|
cpanel-dnspython,1.12.0,1.cp1198-/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/dns/entropy.pyc | Broken | ..5....T. |
The system detected problems with the following cPanel-provided files that the Packaging System controls:
Packages | Status | Additional Information |
---|
cpanel-dnspython,1.12.0,1.cp1198-/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/dns/entropy.pyc | Broken | ..5....T. |
If you did not make these changes intentionally, execute the following command as the root user to correct them:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_pkgs --fix |
|
|
I don't use Python, so I'm not sure what could have happened to break it.
Assuming this is relatively common and I shouldn't be too concerned with a breach or anything, what should I expect when I run check_cpanel_pkgs -- fix ? Is this one of those things that'll be done in 5 seconds, or more like 5 hours? Will I have to restart the server afterward? Anything I risk losing that I need to back up?
