What @bellwood said - the main issue is really development effort. It just doesn't make sense for us to support something that will be made EOL so soon. As an example, we wouldn't want to spend months on a release that comes out in March only to have the underlying software lose support in April - that just doesn't make sense from a development perspective.

What about an OS recommendation that will work with the new version of Cpanel for a server that requires php 56 along with php 7&8? Unfortunately I need to run php 56 for a very important script on one of the websites on my server. Is there an OS that Cpanel supports in this regard?

Looks like the writing's on the wall for CentOS 7 and CloudLinux 7 with cPanel & WHM. Version 110 is their swan song, supported till June 2024. Post that, we're in uncharted territory with version 112 ditching support for 'em.

I run Centos 7. Should the WHM notification indicator be telling me that version 112.0.3 is Available if I supposedly can't install it.

I'm set to only install updates manually so seeing this notification has me concerned about what it may try to do they next time I manually run UPCP.

Will the update process prevent it and this is just an annoying version reminder that really shouldn't appear if you can't install?

Concerned that I my hose my system if it tries to install an incompatible version. Just need some clarity and reassurance.

@kdean - I created a CentOS 7 server running cPanel version 110.0.7, and I just see the standard warning in the WHM interface:

Code:
cPanel & WHM version 110 will be the last version that supports CentOS 7. Support for version 110 will end June 30, 2024. We encourage you to migrate to an AlmaLinux 8 or CloudLinux™ 8 server before June 30, 2024. For more information, read our cPanel Deprecation Plan documentation.
I don't see any options to update to 112, as that wouldn't be possible anyway.

It could be your specific platform has come across an odd issue, so it might be best to create a ticket with our team so we can do some additional testing.

If you are running CentOS 7 and your Update Preferences are RELEASE, you will see the notification that the version 112.0.3 is avail. but the update was blocked.
If you change Update Preferences to LTS, the notification will dissapear after upcp will run next time.

Should we switch all CentOS 7 Update Preferences from RELEASE to LTS in order to receive security updates?

What are the risks with upgrading to AlmaLinux 8/9 from CloudLinux v7.9.0 STANDARD hyper-v or from CentOS v7.9.2009 STANDARD ?
I have several hundreds of accounts on each and have several security add-ons and other add-ons enabled?
