SOLVED CPANEL-40374 - DNS Path Diagram not as expected, getting NS1 as intermediary instead of direct link to NS2

I set up a DNS Cluster following the steps here: Guide to DNS Cluster Configurations | cPanel & WHM Documentation

Both NS1 & NS2 do update to changes on WS1. I will be adding WS2 and WS3 next.

My understanding is that the WS DNS roles should be sync, and NS roles standalone, so that a change on any WS DNS zone is sent to all NSs which will in turn send the changes to any other WSs (as long as the record is newer than on the other WSs). So for example, WS2 makes a change, NS1 and NS2 receive the change, then they update WS1, WS3.

I was getting ready to add WS2 to the cluster when I noticed that the DNS Path Diagram looks like this:

WS1
....NS1
........NS2

(periods added for spacing only, there are no arrows either)

I assume that indicates an intermediary relationship, when what I expected was direct from WS1 to each NS. (There are no arrows even showing, so all I have to go off of is the indentation.) All the settings look as they should, and refreshing them hasn't helped. There is the possibility of some DNS propagation still happening, but it should ok - all settings (hostnames,IPs, DNS rols) show correct in WHM.

How do I correct this?

Where are my arrows? ;)

And when I add WS2 and WS3 how to I insure they are all dierect connected?

Hey hey! We actually have an open case on this already - CPANEL-40374 - to get the diagrams fixed. Things still work properly, but it just doesn't appear properly in the interface. I'll post an update once I have one!
Great news!

So it's most likely I DO have direct linking, it's just the diagram that's wonky?

If so I will proceed in faith that I'm getting it right.
