Disable Edit DNS Zone in WHM?

Is it possible to disable the "Edit DNS Zone" in WHM for root?

We would like to use a cPanel DNS only cluster to allow multiple different entities/VPSes to share the same DNS servers, but we don't want them to have the ability to edit each others zone files from WHM. We want to force them to update DNS zones via the cPanel interface per account instead.

It's not possible to disable the Edit DNS Zone feature in Web Host Manager for root users. It seems like the functionality you are seeking is similar to what's discussed on the following feature request:

Ownership and access control of zones in the dns server.

I encourage you to vote and add comments to that request if you'd like to see it added to the product.
