Disabled Server Still Getting Failed SSL Notifications

I've got a server that I'm not using anymore and let the Cpanel license expire but I'm still getting "cPanel service SSL certificate warnings" email notifications from the server. I don't want to delete WHM/Cpanel just in case I need to re-activate it for some reason later. So looks like the SSL cert renewal function is still live despite not having a valid license for WHM/Cpanel. How do I stop the notifications?

Not sure if it's still current but I'm wondering if this thread will help you:

You could try in command line:
Code:
whmapi1 disable_autossl

It looks like the API is disabled if there is no license file. The response I got using the command line command suggested is:

status: 0
statusmsg: Cannot Read License File

This appears to be a bug in that the ssl renewal still is running even though everything else is shutdown without an easy way to shut if off. Hopefully there's another solution but of course I can't even use Cpanel support with the server shutdown. I may need to just renew the license to shut it off but that seems like it should really be unecessary so maybe there'a a hack I can use like rename the file with the code that runs to renew the cert.
