Anyone besides me noticing that Exim suddenly stopped purging the mail queue?

Normally, messages are removed after five days, but I am seeing many many servers with messages in the queue over that mount. Seen as many as ten days just sitting there.

I realize I could futz around with the config file, but I was used to this happening properly...

~ "/(extra|special)/data"
In /etc/exim.conf, find the following lines:

auto_thaw = 6d
ignore_bounce_errors_after = 7d
timeout_frozen_after = 8d

Modify the number in order to set the days in the queue, then restart Exim.

It may be that your configuration has always been the same, but an increase in a particular type of message has meant that the mail queue now has a noticable number of queued messages, such as undeliverable bounce messages (e.g. to routeable, but undeliverable, spammer senders).

Hei,

Doesn't these changes will disappear after cPanel upgrade?.. How do I modify Exim config file without any affect from cpanel upgrades?

Hi, I am putting these options in the first text box, is that ok? Will these settings override what is already in the exim config file?

Thanks!

GOT,
Check the permissions in /var/spool/exim directory as well
make sure the following is not present in exim.conf
queue_only = true
