Hey,

I'm sorta stuck here and I'm pretty sure I tried out all options. cPanel on Google's Compute Engine is not possible, or am I wrong?

I recently saw the post Can I Install cPanel with Google Compute Engine? | cPanel Blog which is pretty recent. I followed instructions as they were all pretty straight forward.

As I one of the steps are to start opening the ports that are necessary for cPanel, I start receiving errors on the default ports of cPanel. 2082,2083,2086,2087

What I found strange is after reading multiple of articles saying that SMTP ports are blocked automatically, those were able to be open...strange

My question here is if anyone has successfully installed and create accounts while using Google's Compute Engine and if so how did you do it?

Thanks for all your help

Hello :)

Could you let us know the specific error messages you are receiving, and what steps you are taking to reproduce these error messages?

Thank you.

I get that same error on all the default ports for cPanel and on the others as well.

Steps to reproduce error

1) Create VM Instance
2) Edit VM Instance
3) Go to where it says Network and click on default
4) Click add Firewall Rule
5) Here is where you enter the details on the port. Sources I entered to allow from any source.
