I had mysql upgraded from 4.0.25 standard something to 4.1.18 and apache broke, apache was then fixed and then when mysql was restarted it decided not to turn on again. Running the command /scripts/mysqlup --force does absolutely nothing as you can see here:

root@server20 [~]# /scripts/mysqlup --force
root@server20 [~]#

I have whmxtra and I try to run the reinstall through there but it does not work. I'm not all technical so if you have an idea put it into something I can understand.

my suggestion is going to be beg/borrow or hire a knowledgeable system administrator for this one.

I just went through some issues with mysql 4.1.18 and its going to take some tech knowhow to find the errors and then be able to interpet them for a fix.

If you can track down the errors in the error logs and post them we will be glad to give it a shot to help you.

Not entirely, he got mysql installed and it appears to be working from the outside but most scripts don't function correctly, some scripts work and some don't, if they do then they have something wrong with them.
