Hi all,
New member and new to cpanel. I have run a virtual server using command line and I'm confused with some things I see in cpanel.

I used winscp to more files to the home dir on my new vps.
I modified httpd.conf named.conf and created dns zone files in /var/named for all my domains.

This has not worked out as I thought it might.

I added one domain via cpanel and now when I view files in /home all I see is the dir for the one domain I created with cpanel.

Is there something I can do to force cpanel to see the other files in the /home dir?

Thanks!!!!

Make sure that you have uploaded the files to the correct directory, public_html in the home directory to make them public viewable.

From the profile, I believe that you are a user, to which folder have you uploaded the files.

A user panel will only list the files of that particular user.

First of all I want to point out that any modifications you make manually to the apache configuration and named configuration will be overwritten, you should also not be manually creating DNS zone files. When you add an account to your cPanel server all of these things are modified automatically.

As far as the other files in the /home/ directory what are the permissions and is the user/group the same as that of the cPanle account you're adding them to?
