Hi All.
We recently decided to move a single cpanel server to ESX server in order to allow for high availability. Basically, if the vmware node that is running cpanel should fail or need maintenance, we can easily push it to another node in real time without an outage.
However, performance seems to be an issue. The hardware hasn't changed before or after the upgrade. We have standardized on Dell 2950 servers with dual quad core cpu's.
The problem I am seeing is high cpu. We have alotted 4 vcpus (the maximum) to cpanel. However, mysql seems to be consuming an enormous amount of cpu.
Anyone have any luck running cpanel in ESX? I am concerned that our desire to offer a highly available system to our customer is creating a performance problem.
