Problem with mailserver claiming different IP after IP Migration

We were required to switchover IPs from our datacenter, and now when I check my domain at dnsreport.com, I get the following error.

WARNING: One or more of your mailservers is claiming to be a host other than what it really is (the SMTP greeting should be a 3-digit code, followed by a space or a dash, then the host name). This probably won't cause any harm, but is a technical violation of RFC821 4.3 (and RFC2821 4.3.1). Note that the hostname given in the SMTP greeting should have an A record pointing back to the same server.

domain.com claims to be host server1.domain.net [but that host is at 69.44.xx.xx, not 64.34.xx.xx].
The old IP is the 69.44.xx.xx and the new IP is the 64.34.xx.xx.

I cannot figure out where it is still getting the old IP from. I've checked the /etc/hosts files but only the new IP and the 127.0.0.1 local address was in there. I used the Migration tool, and I thought I did everything, but it looks like I'm missing something. Any help would be apprieciated. Its a RHES3 box.

Thanks!

Did you have the datacenter change your reverse DNS? I will bet not.

Actually, they haven't changed the reverse DNS (I've been waiting and it's getting a little unnerving now). I'll wait and see if that helps -- makes sense though. Thanks!

Yeah, there is a migration tool in WHM under IP functions.

Reverse DNS can actually be changed in far less than 24-72 hours. Sometimes even 30 minutes before an update. Now of course, not everone gets the update that fast - but most do.

It's been over 4 days now.. They seem to be messing up a lot of others too, their forums have been blazing over the IP migration.. Sooner or later I'm sure they will get around to it..

But the more I look at it, the more your reasoning makes sense. My server still has a reverse ptr to my old IP, so that's probably why (and here I am ripping my hair out looking through all the config files..) Hopefully that ends up being the case.

If they do not get that done in rapid time, maybe you should worry about the rest of the
services that datacenter provides, especially since that one is so simple.
