I have incremental backups working to a remote server via rsync ( a QNAP in this case). I have daily x 7, weekly x 3 monthly x 3. This has been working fine for a while (years). Recently the WHM server storage hit 95+% and this stopped backups working until I resized the disk and created more space.

To 'catch up' on backups I immediately ran a manual back up.

Once complete through on the remote storage I could not see the daily folder made of remote incremental files. I waited until the next day, and not seeing the current date I manually ran the backup again .. same thing.

Leaving it a few days over the weekend I thought it might 'shake itself out', and then watching a few more it does seem to have 'daily' uploaded folders just a few days behind the current date. When I look in this last modified folder most data is dated 2 days ago with a few items showing todays date as modify - but certainly the named date of the last daily sync folder is two days behind.

On my WHM server in /home/backups/ I see the following folders ( daily backups and monthly - today is the 11th)

2022-10-11
2022-10-10
2022-10-09
2022-10-02
2022-09-17
2022-09-02
monthly
monthly/2022-07-15
monthly/2022-08-15
monthly/2022-09-15
weekly
weekly/2022-09-25
weekly/2022-10-02
weekly/2022-10-09

Firstly - I thought this data was removed after a completed backup. So I'm surprised to see multiple days here... some jumping back a bit.

On the remote server ( just recent folders )

2022-10-09 ( last modified of this folder is the 11th)
2022-10-08 ( last modified of this folder is the 10th)
2022-10-07 ( last modified of this folder is the 09th)
.. and so on

I'm wondering how to fix this... it there is simply a way to run the rsync a few times so it catches up?
How to be sure the local backups are cleaned up properly.
OR
... I'm happy to clear it all out and start a fresh sync - but I'm not sure on the best way to do this either.

Hey there! I'm not sure I've experienced this exact behavior. I'd hate to recommend something that could potentially cause data loss, so it might be best to submit a ticket to our team so we can check the server settings and get you the best information possible. If you're able to do that, can you post the ticket number here so I can follow along?
