Hey there! Is this possibly a WordPress site? If so, the siteurl value could be configured with the www, so it would appear as if it is redirecting.
If you try running a "wget domain.com" on the command line that should show you if it is truly being redirected and would provide the 301 or other redirection code from Apache.
