I have remote backups working with rsync from a linux hosted WHM account. These seem to work great. I have a 1 day x 7 days, 1 week x 3 weeks, 1 month x 3 months retention scheme.
Recently I had a client cancel an account, it was suspended then terminated from WHM a month later, 2 weeks after termination they are asking for a backup copy of all data.
The account does not exist in my back up history. Even though I would have thought that It should have existed in at least 2 of my monthly backups, based on just the suspension time, or additionally couple of weeklies based on Termination.
So - does terminating an account remove all backup history on the remote server as part of the backup pruning (certainly seems so)? If so - can this be stopped so they 'age out'.
