Hello,

I read the Transfer Tool article, Transfer Tool | cPanel & WHM Documentation, and it looks like this tool is mostly about copying cPanel accounts, hence I didn't see in it any exact list of what from WHM can be copied to the new installation.

Since WHM is the global base of the accounts, the whole installation, it is very crucial to be copied as well, and as much as possible content.

How can I get more info about this?

If I understood correctly, you are looking to copy configuration settings from one WHM server to another? If that's the case, you should look at "Configuration Cluster" in WHM.

This won't create an identically configured WHM server for you, though. Most stuff you will need to configure manually, but it can still save you time.

Thanks xpy.

It doesn't looks like much help.
I don't understand, cPanel is such a veteran product - and they still don't have a decent transfer tools that will do most of the copy work? why should I need to dive into the WHM config and then copy manually, working in error and trial method??

Thanks ffeingol, this looks much more optimistic!
The wording in this article is not so explicit about that that it is copying much of the WHM config, the focus is on cpanel accounts copying. I wish this wording will be enhanced.

Thank you!

I am missing a prominent sentence that clearly states that WHM is also copied (at least most of it, hopefully), at the top - something like "The Transfer tool copies any accounts from cPanel that you will select to copy and most of the WHM configuration" and then have an internal link to the section that
ffeingol from above referred to, plus stating what is NOT copied.

Remember that the transfer/copy is a big step for server owners and they fear lost of data and functionality, and they know that WHM is base layer of the cPanel accounts, so they need to be sure it will copied as much as possible.

Consider adding a diff tool to compare whm and cpanel accounts configs between two server, before and after copy - it will help server owners to quickly find what needs their attention.

If possible also refer to if firewalld config is copied.

Thanks.
