Hi,
A few days ago I received a notification mail about, cPanel / WHM have new version, version 78.
I read the link of doc. Installation Guide - Version 78 Documentation - cPanel Documentation
In my WHM-Server Configuration-Update Preferences I have set Release (in my case, now I have 76.0.18)
I view of 78.0.3 Edge and Current, also LTS.
My little doubt:
Don't install Edge and or current (need stable version :)) but I view the LTS.
Now is stable the new version 78?
If its yes, I don't know if install by WHM change the set to 78 LTS or via installation guide:
Installation Guide - Version 78 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

Thanks and regards!

cPanel 78 is not yet in the STABLE branch. You can view its current status, and timeline, at The Hosting Platform of Choice | cPanel Release Highlights | cPanel, Inc.
Sorry, in my question, I was ask if its a stable version, but really I want ask if its a Release (Release is the version that whm recommended)

But I view that, in whm-update preferences, I can select the LTS 78.0.3, when I saw this option available, I thought it was already available as LTS, and when I said stable, I was referring to a version that was already recommended or almost definitive, not a release candidate or similar.

You can read more about the branches at Product Versions and the Release Process - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation

Please note that if you have done so already, or choose to upgrade to version 78, you can't downgrade to 76 or earlier.
Ok, thanks, yes, I know, if I upgrade to 78 I can't downgrade.

At the moment, I don't have 78.03, at the moment I have 76.0.18.

I read all about new features in 78, and it looks very good :)

Thanks for your reply.

Regards.

Hello @wonder_wonder,

LTS releases are known by their major version number as opposed to the release tier they are published to. Thus, while version 78 isn't yet published to the RELEASE and STABLE release tiers, it's marked as a LTS release because it's the next major version after 70 with long-term support. You can read more about this at:

cPanel Long-Term Support - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation

Thank you.

Hello @cPanelMichael !

Thanks for the explanation and clarification.
My question was raised because maybe, I confused the term LTS with a linux LTS distribution. In linux a distro LTS means it is stable (apart from being Long Time Support) to see it available in my WHM I deduced / thought that maybe it was already a version stable enough to install it.
But after reading this thread and the links that you mention, as you indicate, it is not yet in Release and Stable.
I understand that, the LTS informs us of what you indicate, it is the next "jump" from 70 to 78 as LTS, but it does not have the tiers of Stable or Release yet.
I will wait then to be in Stable or Current version to install it :)
Thanks and best regards!
