Does cPanel automatically update the Perl modules listed at Home > Software > Install a Perl Module? If so, I do not think that is working on my installs.

If not, is there a way to automate updating them all at once instead of having to click the update link on each one?

Thanks

Modules installed through that interface are not automatically updated by cPanel & WHM. You'll need to click update on each one.

Maybe I'm being a little thick here, but why is there no way to do this automatically? Every single module could need to be updated the next day but there would be no way to know this other than clicking on update again. Shouldn't the interface at least show if there is an update available or somehow automate the checking processes by allowing a "check all" option? That would be extremely useful. As of now the interface is very frustrating.

If I log into the cpan shell from the command line as root and use the "r" command, the list of modules that need to be updated ddoes not match the list in Home > Software > Install a Perl Module. And the ones that do match sometimes do not match the version number. I don't mess with Perl too much, so what is the difference between these two lists of outdated modules?

And, should I allow cpan to update all of the out of date modules found using cpan from the root shell?
