WHM mod perl, imagemagick, etc.

I have a question or two,

First I installed JDk on my server and did the steps to enable it for my sites, but it doesnt work.

Then I also installed mod perl in WHM and it doesnt work and isnt listed in the httpd.conf file, but shows in WHM as being installed.

Then I also installed imagemagick and imagemagick-perl in WHM and it shows as being installed, but my program that needs this says it is not installed on the system. My programmers also said it isnt installed due to components they need for pdf files included in imagemagick.

Geez what is going on here and why is this so difficult? What is the meaning of life? Why isnt anything simple 8)

I would be greatful for some ideas and thanks.
