WordPress Toolkit Deluxe Pricing, really?

Congrats on the release of the WP Toolkit Deluxe. I guess I'm either still laughing or still in shock. I added the product to my cPanel cart and for 60 accounts, the monthly bill will be $90???

How can you justify that price with Softaculous and Installatron costing a fraction of that and providing almost all the same features plus some you don't?

I have to say that I'm in awe that cPanel management thinks there will be large scale purchasing of this plugin at $90 a server. Even at 50% off, that's still stratospheric compared to other solutions that manage 100's of scripts vs just one, WordPress.

Have to say it that we'll uninstall the WP Toolkit and stick with Installatron for the LONG foreseeable future.

You do realize that this price is double what we're paying for server licenses which do WAY more than manage WP.

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback about the pricing structure of WordPress Toolkit. I believe where some confusion may be happening with the pricing is that you do not have to have the Deluxe license on each account - it's perfectly fine to mix and match between the free and Deluxe versions on the same machine.

There have been discussions on the differences between WPT and Softaculous/Installatron, and the Deluxe version does offer more features specific to WordPress that neither of them does. One of the biggest features is the Smart Updates, which allows users to compare versions of their sites before and after an update runs, to ensure there are no unwanted or unexpected changes.

I hope that helps clear things up!

Thanks for the update about pricing. Still very expensive compared to the others mentioned. The only way a hosting company can make that per-month pricing work is by making it an upsell for WP clients which brings us back to Installatron/Softaculous. They do offer cloning of sites to test big updates and offer all the auto-plugin/theme updating as well.

I think what might happen is your WP toolkit will become a low-volume offering for self-hosted clients who want that specific feature for testing and would be willing to pay$3-5 monthly for that ability.

Just some thoughts from someone who's been hosting with cPanel for a long time now. In our customer journey experience, when customers start paying $25 and above monthly for WP hosting, their expectations change on what becomes the hoster's responsibility vs theirs (end users), which gets pushed into our ticketing system as tasks to be handled.

As for removing the WP toolkit, we're removing due to some confusion now about when to use your toolkit vs Installatron. Removing your WP toolkit (the free version) helps us eliminate one more area of confusion and a lot of extra support tickets.

Yeah, i signed up just to waste my time to comment that the pricing is ridiculous. I would pay maybe $10/mo for our entire server regardless of accounts. I will keep cloning sites to setup my own staging, or find another tool because really that's the only thing I would want from it.

We're sticking with Installatron and another good option is Softaculous. Both have had all the features plus some of the new WP Toolkit. WP Toolkit as a couple features they don't but, they don't warrant the price. I can pay $55 per pear per server using Installatron.

I am with all the other comments in this post and others. The pricing for WordPress ToolKit is actually beyond brutal. When we saw the addition we thought to ourselves "great, this might allow us to replace an alternative tool we utilize".

When we saw your actual pricing plan we fell out of chairs in shock. Then we fell out of them again actually laughing at the pricing plan given how ludicrous it is. We have thousands of accounts. We would have to mortgage our parents and grandparents. The price increases in cpanel itself have been challenging and we may soon have to leave it. This new "feature" is just adding insult to injury. All of its features should be part of the price we pay for cpanel given pricey Cpanel itself has become.

This is not a shitpost. We really find your pricing schemes outrageous. Probably not going to put up with for much longer.

@Ronald070 - WordPress Deluxe is now included for free with the cPanel license.
You have a link to that announcement? The blog still shows the toolkit has two versions and is still priced high.

I don't have an announcement link, but I do know an email went out to all license holders and there is an update to the WHM Feature Showcase as well.

We'll get that support link you provided adjusted or removed to reflect the change.
Thanks! So if we install the WP Toolkit Deluxe and try to use it on accounts, will it try to bill us per account? If not, this is SUPER exciting and will push us to bring WordPress hosting forward as a local solution for small businesses and help us manage this. Right now we use WPManage very successfully but it has some big gaps like new WP deployments and cloning. This would also help us move away from Installatron and others.

I'll also submit a feature request today for having a WP plugin we can install on remote WP sites that WPToolkit can connect to and migrate entire WP sites over. 10Web hosting has that now and it's brilliant!

While the Marketplace will show what licenses you have, it won't show where they came from. You can use your server's main IP address to check the license status here:

and that will show where the license was purchased.

If the license wasn't purchased directly from cPanel, you'd need to contact the license holder to see about the WordPress Toolkit issue, as that can be disabled at the license level.
