Hello Developers.
I would like to share my suggestions on UI for managing addon, alias and subdomains (now called just "Domains") page. If you could improve these things - it would greatly make our life easier.
I hope my screenshots are clear and useful.

All great ideas for tweaks in this area.

I see a couple of things here, so I want to distill them down to assist in future conversation here.
  • In order to enable users to operate with domain names without visiting those domains, the full URL of each domain in the Domains list should be selectable and copy-able.
  • In order to set better expectations about what content should be served by a domain, present the "share document root" option in a clearer more user-friendly way.
  • In order to make domain modifications easier, it should be possible to convert an addon domain to an alias or vice-versa, set up a redirect of a domain to somewhere else, and set the default email address for a domain when managing domains.
Is that about accurate? I admit I may have the reasons for these requests a bit off so correction is very welcome there.

Missed your reply..
1. yes, I want to be able to copy a domain name.
2. indeed. now it's totally confusing even for us - administrators. if you ask me - may be it is time to abandon the "alias" type of domain? This would also make SSL management easier. but at least - make it clearer, may be make the option to create domain as "addon" as default and especially the next point:
3. yes, converting domains from alias to addon and vice versa would be the huge impact on our flow. managing redirects as it was before (from the "addon domains" page) would help a lot as well.
