Your machine has multiple network interface cards (NICs) using kernel-names (ethX).

When I run Security Advisor I get:

  • One or more enabled YUM repo are currently unsupported. You should disable these repositories and remove packages installed from them before continuing the update. Consider reporting this limitation to Issues · cpanel/elevate
  • Your machine has multiple network interface cards (NICs) using kernel-names (ethX). Since the upgrade process cannot guarantee their stability after upgrade, you cannot upgrade. Please provide those interfaces new names before continuing the update.

1. Is there any guide on how to "provide those interfaces new names"? Running CentOS 7.9
2. I have elasticsearch-5.x installed, is it necessary to uninstall?

Hey there! If you wanted to run the ELevate tool, you'd need to remove that software and repository to avoid any interference from the update process.

As far as the network card names, it would be best to speak with your hosting provider or datacenter about that. While we do provide the alert notice, we don't manage the network settings inside WHM, and the process of making those changes can vary depending on your hosting plan and environment.

I spoke with the team and we are still looking into all the possibilities that could interfere with the update. At this point, the only way to proceed is to remove the software or repositories it mentions to ensure there are no conflicts, as there is not a way to override or bypass that check.

I got this reply:

There are only a handful of packages there but none of them will affect elasticsearch.
Just of note, in both cases, you can likely just enable=0 for both repos, then enable=1 after elevate is completed and do an update to get any packages that might need updating.
